Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, he moved to France at the age of seven. He started boxing a bit by chance at the club of Montargis and he quickly accumulated successes. A powerful, serious and tough boxer, he fast became a must on the international scene in the 75 kg.

At the Olympics in Rio, Mbilli-Assomo defeated Ukrainian Dmytro Mytrofanov and Ecuadorian Marlon Delgado before losing in a furious battle against potential gold medalist Arlen Lopez from Cuba.
The boxer surnamed “Solid” made his professional debut on February 9 at the Montréal Casino Cabaret. He stopped the Mexican Adrian Arenas in less than two rounds with impressive calm and surgical precision.
February 24th at the Vidéotron Centre, on the undercard of the WBC light heavyweight elimination bout between Eleider Alvarez and Lucian Bute, Mbilli made some new fans by scoring a spectacular victory by T.-K.-O. in the 3rd round over the tough as nails Mexican Jesus Olivares.
Expect to see Christian Mbilli regularly in action in 2017, because he is “Solid!”
